senior portraits

anne's photographic philosophy

I love photography. How did it start? With my daughter. I just couldn’t stop taking photos. To this very day, I’ll see a child on the street and desperately want to sneak a quick snap. And sometimes I do!

But then they grow up and graduate from high school and college. Along with our photos of our babies, we capture them again upon leaving the nest.

I am a black and white specialist. Most senior portrait photographers are almost exclusively color. However, I do things in reverse. I create stunning - non digital - images of seniors in black and white. I will do color if you say "pretty please". An expert in both, however, I always gravitate toward quality museum grade black and white portraits. They last for a very long time. They are gorgeous!

BLACK AND WHITE
and color if you say pretty please

Why do I like black and white photography? It's 'cause I’m a black and white sort of person. In fact, they’re my favorite colors. Always have been. So if you see me with one black shoe and one white, you’ll know I haven’t lost my marbles. I just adore the combination.

Ok, I’m not a typical photographer. Maybe everyone says that, but in my case my career is my passion. That means I use lots of film. Literally dozens of images per shoot.Award winning, sometimes. A treasure always. What matters is creating something magical.

My photography is all about sharing. It’s about collaboration. I share myself with you. You share yourself with me. We meet for a few of hours and discover your story. I ask you to move. We start to laugh and I begin to click the shutter.

In the end, I share the results with you. We find the perfect image, you hold it to your heart then share it with others.

Call me, we can chat, dream and discover how to make a magical moment in time.

Pretty well says it all, doesn’t it!
